Summary: Sort of a sequel to Meeting Man but it can be read alone. Mer!Tim is singing while relaxing on a rock when Kon sees him, Tim freaks out and swims away. Kon chases after and is contested only by a wave.
Tim was sitting on top of the very same rock he hid behind just the other day when he had saved Kon, thinking about what had happened over and over again, he found that he just couldn’t get that man out of his mind. The way the droplets of sea water clung to his skin, the way his eyelids fluttered when he was about to come to. Even his name had Tim’s mind whirling at a thousand miles an hour.
Kon… I wonder how he is…. Maybe I’ll see him again… I hope so. Tim stared down at the shell he held in his hands, it was the same one he found the day that he saved Kon. A small smile touched his face as he looked at how the colors shown in the afternoon sun, casting little rainbows all over his scales. He was so engrossed by his thoughts as he turned his shell over and over again in his hands that, without even thinking about it, Tim began to sing.
Out on the sea we’d be forgiven
Our bodies stopped the spirit leaving
Wouldn’t you like to know how far you’ve got left to go
Somebody’s child
Nobody made you
It’s not what you stole it’s what they gave you
In or out you go
In your silence your soul
Would you rather go unwilling
The heart is full and now it’s spilling
Barreling down the steps
Only a moment left
In hind of sight no peace of mind
Where you begin and I’m defined
Daughter of unconscious fate
Time will tell in spite of me
In hind of sight no peace of mind
It begins and we’ll be fine
Where shadows bend and suddenly
The world becomes
And swallows me in
Whistle to a friend
Gentle til the end
Anyway in a name
She takes shape just the same
Tim looked up as he finished singing and his eyes widened in horror at what he saw. Standing on the beach directly across from him was Kon. Shocked that he had heard him sing, and that Kon had actually saw him, Tim quickly dived into the ocean and swam back to the reef as fast as he could, not even stopping when he heard Kon call after him.
“Wait! Wait don’t go!” A splash followed close behind but Tim still didn’t slow down. “I’m not going to hurt you I just want to talk! Wait! Please!”
He ignored all please and kept on swimming, back to his hiding spot in the reef but not before ducking down a bit further to avoid the decent sized wave that was heading straight for the beach. His beach. Kon’s beach.
Oh no. Dropping his shell off he turned around and quickly swam back towards the shore, just as he thought he saw Kon splashing, thrashing, and sputtering in the water, his head bobbing in and out of the surface.
“Ahhh! Bluuuuugghhhh!!!” He gasped for air as he came back up. “Ggguuuhh!! Help!”
Tim quickly swam over and grabbed him, keeping Kon’s head up out of the water and dragging him back onto the shore. Sputtering and coughing, Kon cleared the water out of his lungs and rolled onto his back on the sand.
“Why is it that I’m always saving you?” Tim shook his head and made to dive back into the ocean again but stopped as he felt Kon’s hand catch his wrist.
“Wait! Please don’t go again. I… wanted to thank you for saving me.” Kon smiled and sat up. “Can you tell me your name?”
“It’s Tim. My name is Tim.”
“I’m Kon. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too.”
